À la cart

À la Cart is an app linked to local grocery stores with a mission to combat global food waste. Users can upload their recipes or choose from the app's suggested meals. Partnering with nearby grocery stores, À la Cart ensures that all ingredients for selected recipes are meticulously sourced and prepared down to the precise measurements (even as small as 1/4 teaspoon), with users only being charged for the amount they utilize. Once the groceries are prepared, users can pick them up in-store or conveniently deliver them to their doorstep.

Style Guide

I created patterns featuring illustrated vegetables and playful squiggle lines. Alongside this, I created alternative flat logos when designing the branding elements. The primary logo, positioned at the center, showcases meal preparation at its base, providing comprehensive context to the brand. This logo is intended for all promotional packaging to reinforce the brand identity.

The app

For the app interface, displayed on a mock-up iPhone, the design reflects an authentic user experience, illustrating various pages such as the user profile, recipe repository, and menu display. The menu page showcases enticing images of recipes alongside key ingredients. Furthermore, the app allows users to customize ingredients to accommodate their dietary preferences or restrictions.

Walk-through

This video demonstrates what it would look like, going through the app and selecting a recipe and going to the cart

Collateral

Regarding collateral, we opted for engaging promotional items such as stickers, tote bags, and clothing to promote the brand visibility in social settings. As an eco-friendly gesture, we included a tote bag with the first recipe purchase, enabling users to embark on a zero-waste journey right from the outset.
